Neville, a standout from the University of Oregon, was selected with the 114th overall pick in this year’s draft. The 6-foot-3 left-handed hitter put together an impressive junior season with the Ducks, earning First-Team All-Big Ten honors. Across 57 games in 2025, Neville posted a strong .290/.429/.724 slash line, collecting 42 extra-base hits, including a mix of doubles, triples, and home runs, while also swiping nine bases. His combination of speed, power, and defensive ability has been on scouts’ radars since his prep days. MLB.com once compared his raw tools and fluid swing to a young Cody Bellinger, noting that his blend of athleticism and offensive upside makes him one of the more intriguing mid-round selections in the draft.

With their 264th pick, the Reds turned to Arizona State and selected outfielder Kien Vu. While Vu did not appear in MLB.com’s top 250 draft prospects, his performance in 2025 suggested that he might have been one of the more underrated bats in the class. In 50 games with the Sun Devils, Vu slashed an impressive .354/.458/.601, showing a mature approach at the plate, gap-to-gap power, and the ability to get on base at a high clip.

His production, coupled with his consistent contact skills, has already drawn positive attention from player development staff.

By moving Neville and Vu to Low-A so soon after the draft, the Reds are signaling confidence in their readiness to handle professional pitching and perhaps fast-track their development within the system. Both players will now have an early opportunity to prove themselves against full-season competition.
