Prior to this season’s Opening Day, the St. Louis Cardinals were not anticipated to do much. But they got out to a strong start in the season, finishing well above.500, and appeared to be a squad that might contend in the National League Central.
As the season progressed, the squad began to fall apart and resemble the one that many had anticipated in 2025. They are now 18 games behind the division-leading Milwaukee Brewers and five games out of a wild card place with a 62-64 record as of Tuesday.

The iconic Busch Stadium has never been full with spectators this season. They are voicing their desire for their company to alter and go back to their successful practices.
Cardinals’ Joe Strohm backs fans’ frustrations
The supporters’ grievances have undoubtedly been heard by the front staff. The fans have every right to remain at home, according to Joe Strohm, vice president for ticket sales, who talked with Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

“That’s the one thing: We know there is work being done to lure people back, and fans have the chance to vote whether they are happy or not. We must regain their trust. The entertainment business is that. Earning people’s discretionary cash is essential,” Strohm stated.

Strohm is aware of the fans’ perspectives. Their hard-earned money should not be wasted on a product that falls short of its potential. Over the offseason, the front office in St. Louis will undoubtedly have their hands full.
