Many fans had high expectations for the Cincinnati Reds’ season, but it hasn’t materialized. Cincinnati, on the other hand, is not giving up after defeating the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday. The Cardinals were defeated 7–4 by the Reds.

Shortstop Matt McLain was a standout player for Cincinnati on Sunday, hitting a single home run during the contest. Later, Terry Francona, McLain’s manager, gave him the tip of the cap.

In the top of the first inning on Sunday, St. Louis scored two runs. By scoring three runs in the bottom of the second, the Reds were able to reduce that deficit. In the final eight innings of the contest, Cincinnati gave up just two more runs.

McLain continued, “You have to keep working through it even though baseball beats you down sometimes.”

McLain has seen highs and lows this season. In his previous two games, he has now hit a home run. The slugger for the Reds is hitting. 222 with 42 RBIs and 13 home homers this season.
