The starting lineup of the New York Mets has already changed significantly from the start of the season, but more adjustments may be in the works.
There are currently six arms in the Mets rotation. Another Mets pitching prospect may soon join the organization, but Jonah Tong and Nolan McLean have already made it to the major leagues.

Since his time on the disabled list, Kodai Senga has not been playing at his best, while Brandon Sproat is becoming more dominant at Triple-A. Carlos Mendoza left open the possibility that Sproat will soon take Senga’s post.

Mendoza stated, “We just got done with the game,” according to Mark W. Sanchez of the New York Post. “Obviously, we must get him properly. I’m rather certain that we will talk about what’s next for him. But it’s our responsibility to correct him. It has been difficult.
It is obvious that Mendoza would not guarantee Senga a spot in the starting lineup. Considering how he began the season, that in and of itself is shocking. But his remarks on Sproat may be a clue that another youngster would be added.
According to Sanchez, Mendoza stated, “We’re watching,” when Sproat joined the team. Seeing those men keep putting themselves in a position where they say, ‘Hey, if there’s a need, I’m here,’ is encouraging. And I believe that was Sproat’s (Saturday) way of telling us all. As if to say, “Hey, man, I can have this too.”
Since coming off the disabled list, Senga’s ERA is 5.90. With the postseason rapidly approaching, he has not gone deep into games and has placed the Mets in a difficult situation.
