Since the 2018 season, Miles Mikolas has been a member of the St. Louis Cardinals. He has garnered two All-Star selections in 2018 and 2022, primarily due to his presence on the mound at that time.
He has, however, found it difficult to hold onto his supremacy during the past two seasons. He has pitched 130.1 innings in 26 games this season, recording a 6-10 record with a 5.04 ERA.

Mikolas’ future in St. Louis may be in jeopardy as he is an upcoming free agent. Tim Kelly of Bleacher Report believes the experienced pitcher will sign a contract elsewhere in the upcoming summer.
“Mikolas was once an excellent pitcher for the Cardinals, but while he’s continued to eat innings, he has a 5.04 ERA over the lifetime of his three-year, $55.75 million deal,” Kelly stated. “If the 37-year-old hopes to continue his career, it’s going to have to be elsewhere.”
Where could Miles Mikolas end up next season?
There are always plenty of clubs wanting to bolster their rotation with an experienced pitcher. This approaching free agency period, such will be the case once more, and Miles Mikolas is a fantastic fit for that.

The Texas Rangers are one club that could be watching this game. Jon Gray and Tyler Mahle are two of their starting pitchers who will soon be free agents.
The Detroit Tigers are another club to keep an eye on. Additionally, they have a number of pitchers who are upcoming free agents, including Chris Paddack, Matthew Boyd, and Jack Flaherty. If one of them signs elsewhere, Mikolas might take their place.
