The Chicago Cubs are unlikely to have the financial flexibility to bring back power hitter Kyle Tucker this offseason. Because of that, the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, and Toronto Blue Jays have surfaced as the leading teams interested in him.
Tucker is expected to command a contract exceeding $350 million, a price tag that would probably eliminate the Cubs from contention. However, the remaining three teams are all well-positioned to make a serious push.
Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter reveal that Cubs right fielder will ultimately choose the Yankees over the Dodgers, Blue Jays, and Cubs this winter.

“The Yankees could run it back with Jasson DomÃnguez in left field and slugger Spencer Jones nipping at his heels in the minors, but failing to re-sign Cody Bellinger or replace him with Kyle Tucker would be impossible to frame as anything but a downgrade for their offensive attack,” Reuter wrote.
For the Yankees to sign Tucker, they’d need to cut ties with Cody Bellinger. This would be quite a risk because Tucker is projected to sign for twice as much as Bellinger.

But Tucker would pair perfectly next to Aaron Judge in the outfield in the Bronx. These are two of the better hitters in baseball. Pairing them next to each other would only elevate their games.
The Yankees are one of the favorites for Tucker for a reason. They have the money and the hole in the outfield. Only time will tell if they’re going to take the risk on him this winter.
