BREAKING: Kenny Dillingham confirms major decision on Sam Leavitt injury for Oklahoma State clash
The Arizona State football team has been an impressive surprise this season, posting a 5-2 record. In Week 10, they face Oklahoma State in Stillwater for a challenging Big 12 Conference matchup.
Coming off a bye week after a hard-fought road loss to Cincinnati, the Sun Devils were without starting quarterback Sam Leavitt, who missed the game due to injury.
Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham confirmed that Leavitt will return as the starting quarterback for the upcoming game against the Cowboys, according to ASU insider Chris Karpman.
“BREAKING: Sam Leavitt will start at Oklahoma State. Kenny Dillingham: ‘He’s going to be the guy. He looked really good today.'”
Dillingham’s comments suggest Leavitt is ready for his comeback.
In Leavitt’s absence, Arizona State relied on Jeff Sims, who previously played for Nebraska and Georgia Tech. Sims passed for only 155 yards with no touchdowns in the 24-14 loss to Cincinnati, while running back Cam Skattebo scored both of ASU’s touchdowns.
