BREAKING: No. 2 Linebacker in America Shuts Down Recruitment, Locked in With LSU Football
LSU linebacker commit remains firmly committed to the Tigers and is set to visit Baton Rouge next weekend.
Hailing from Houston (Texas) North Shore, Ross has climbed rapidly in the 2025 recruiting rankings, now standing as the No. 2 linebacker according to 247Sports. His standout performances have made him a well-known name across Texas.
Ross committed to LSU and head coach Brian Kelly back in March, as his recruitment started to gain momentum. While he received offers from programs like Houston and Baylor, a visit to Baton Rouge cemented his decision to join the Tigers.
Ross ultimately ended his recruitment and committed to LSU, heavily influenced by defensive coordinator Blake Baker, who made Ross feel welcome in Louisiana. “Coach Baker has been an inspiration. We communicate regularly,” Ross shared with On3 Sports. “Our relationship has evolved from recruiter to mentor.”
Baker’s keen eye for talent proved spot-on with Ross, who initially ranked outside the top 30 linebackers nationally but has since surged to No. 2. During his junior year at North Shore, Ross notched 71 tackles, six sacks, two interceptions (including one returned for a touchdown), and two pass breakups. His exceptional speed further sets him apart, having recorded a personal best of 10.63 seconds in the 100-meter dash earlier this year.
Having fully committed to LSU, Ross will sign during the Early Signing Period in December. He plans to attend LSU’s matchup against Alabama next weekend for one final visit before officially making Louisiana home next year.
