Bills, Chiefs, and COSM: The Future of Fans Experience Unfolds with ‘Shared Reality’ Broadcast
CBS Sports and entertainment tech company Cosm have teamed up just in time for fans to enjoy the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills game this Sunday in an innovative way. At Cosm’s immersive venues in Dallas and Los Angeles, fans can catch the action on a massive 87-foot curved screen, creating a hybrid of a movie theater and sports bar experience. This setup will also showcase CBS’s Thanksgiving game between the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions, with the partnership set to continue throughout the regular NFL season.
Using high-tech TV feed cameras and unique lenses, Cosm captures game-day action and offers an immersive experience. Already working with other networks like NBC, ESPN, and Fox for primetime NFL games, Cosm provides fans a chance to enjoy a “complete football feast” on Thanksgiving, with more scheduled games, including Prime Video’s Black Friday game.
With expansions underway for new venues in Atlanta and Detroit, Cosm aims to scale globally, according to CEO Jeb Terry. CBS is also boosting excitement for Sunday’s game, with the *NFL Today* team broadcasting live on-site, underscoring the intense rivalry between these AFC teams. Their last two meetings attracted over 25 million viewers, with 30-second ad slots going for nearly $1 million.
