For the first time during Kalen DeBoer’s tenure as Alabama’s head coach, one of his top recruits might be slipping away. On Saturday night, On3 analysts Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons predicted that five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham could flip his commitment from Alabama to Ole Miss. Cunningham, ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver nationally by On3, has been committed to the Crimson Tide since July 13. However, no official announcement has been made regarding his decision.

Cunningham attended Ole Miss’ impressive 28-10 win over No. 3 Georgia on Saturday afternoon, one of several visits he’s made to Oxford this season. While Ole Miss appears to be the main contender, Cunningham has also shown interest in LSU and Auburn throughout his recruitment but has stayed committed to Alabama until now.

Hailing from Ackerman, Mississippi, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound wideout has been a standout at Choctaw County High School, which boasts a 10-1 record this season. Cunningham is one of five five-star recruits committed to Alabama, which currently holds the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation. He is one of two wide receivers in the Crimson Tide’s 23-player class, alongside three-star Lotzeir Brooks.

Meanwhile, Ole Miss has the No. 18 recruiting class, per On3, with commitments from two other wide receivers. As the early national signing day approaches, both Alabama and Ole Miss have time to make their final cases to Cunningham before he solidifies his decision.
