BREAKING: Alabama football lands 5 Star recruit from Georgia over Auburn, Bulldogs
It’s never too early to build for the future, and Alabama football is already making strides in its 2027 recruiting class. While putting the final touches on the 2025 class, the Crimson Tide secured a commitment from Alexander Ward, a wide receiver and defensive back from Marietta, Georgia, who announced his decision to On3 on Tuesday.
Ward cited Alabama’s welcoming atmosphere and developmental focus as key reasons for his commitment. “Really as soon as I stepped into the stadium; just a great atmosphere,” Ward said. “Just how the coaches accepted me into the brotherhood. How they operate, how they develop their players.”
Ward, standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 174 pounds, chose Alabama over programs like Auburn, Georgia, and South Carolina. He expressed interest in playing on both sides of the ball for the Crimson Tide.
Although Ward does not yet have a star rating from the 247Sports Composite, he joins a strong start to Alabama’s 2027 class, which already includes four-star edge defenders Jabarrius Garror and Ba’Roc Willis.
