Even Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has made it clear he wants Teoscar Hernández back in Los Angeles. After Walker Buehler sealed Game 5 of the World Series, Dodgers fans quickly shifted their focus to the offseason’s top priority: re-signing Hernández.

The city celebrated the championship with fireworks, press conferences, and a parade at Dodger Stadium, but Hernández’s future remained a pressing concern. Having signed a one-year, $23.5 million prove-it deal with LA after leaving the Mariners, Hernández delivered an incredible season. He became an All-Star, won the Home Run Derby, claimed his third Silver Slugger, and earned a spot on the All-MLB Second Team. At 32, Hernández showcased his power and consistency, cementing himself as a fan favorite and vital piece of the Dodgers’ lineup.

Dave Roberts Surprised By Concern Surrounding Dodgers

With other teams, including the Yankees and Red Sox, reportedly interested in Hernández, Roberts is adamant about keeping him in LA. “Obviously, I’m a huge fan of Teo,” Roberts said via Dodgers Territory. “It would be hard for me to not see him coming back.”

Now, it’s up to Dodgers GM Brandon Gomes to negotiate a deal and secure Hernández’s future in Blue Heaven. With Juan Soto heading to the Mets and Blake Snell joining an already elite Dodgers rotation featuring Tyler Glasnow and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, retaining Hernández would solidify an already formidable roster for another title run.
