BREAKING>Kalen DeBoer Breaks Silence as Jaylen Mbakwe Decommit From Bama
On December 17, Alabama freshman cornerback Jaylen Mbakwe announced his decision to transfer after one season with the Crimson Tide. Mbakwe, who appeared in 11 of Alabama’s 12 regular-season games, described his choice as a “business decision.
This was not an easy decision, but I believe it’s the best step for my personal and professional development and the future I’m working towards for myself and my family,” he shared in an Instagram post.
Additionally, wide receiver Emmanuel Henderson, a five-star recruit as a running back in 2022, has also entered the transfer portal. Although he didn’t contribute offensively, Henderson served as Alabama’s primary punt returner during the 2024 season.
Mbakwe, a five-star recruit and top-15 overall prospect in 2022, joined Alabama last year. The 247Sports composite rankings listed him as the No. 2 cornerback in the nation at the time.
