UAB Blazers Suffer Major Blow as 4-Star DB Commits to SEC Powerhouse
UAB defensive back Adrian Maddox chose Florida over Georgia and others, and he will soon begin his enrollment.
Maddox, who began his career at Alabama State before playing last season at UAB, has one year of eligibility remaining at Florida. While at Alabama State, Maddox earned first-team All-SWAC honors with 41 tackles and two sacks. In his most recent season at UAB, he recorded 44 tackles, forced two fumbles, and returned an interception for a touchdown.
With the Gators losing Trikweze Bridges and DJ Douglas to the NFL, Maddox’s addition provides much-needed depth at safety. He joins a group of transfer commitments that includes quarterback Deshawn Purdie, receiver J. Michael Sturdivant, defensive end Kofi Asare, and punter Tommy Doman.
