Leeds United’s Lewis Bate is set to embark on a loan move to League Two side MK Dons, as reported by journalist Pete O’Rourke. The 21-year-old midfielder, who emerged from Chelsea’s academy and joined Leeds in 2021, had a loan spell with Oxford United last season, making 28 league appearances until a March injury cut his season short.

Despite joining Leeds this season, Bate has struggled to secure a spot in Daniel Farke’s plans, featuring only once in the EFL Cup. With Leeds reportedly open to offloading the midfielder in the current transfer window, MK Dons have expressed interest in acquiring his services.

It’s been disclosed that Bate has reached an agreement to join MK Dons on loan for the remainder of the season. Having amassed five senior appearances for Leeds, Bate is poised to play under the guidance of Mike Williamson for the rest of the campaign, pending successful completion of the move.
