Breaking News: Saskatchewan Roughriders Confirmed The Addition Of American Star Player To Their Roster
According to sources, KeeSean Johnson, an American receiver, has been signed by the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The Riders included him on their exclusive negotiation list on September 16, 2023, shortly after he was released from the Buffalo Bills’ final training camp cuts in August of the previous year.
Johnson concluded his college football career at Fresno State University as the institution’s all-time leader in receptions (275) and receiving yards (3,463) during his tenure. He achieved consecutive 1,000-yard seasons in his junior and senior years, recording 95 catches for 1,340 yards and eight touchdowns in his final season with the Bulldogs.
Standing at six feet one inch tall and weighing 201 pounds, Johnson, known for his prowess in catching passes, was chosen in the sixth round, 174th overall, in the 2019 NFL Draft. He played in 18 games for the Arizona Cardinals, starting five, and secured 36 passes for 360 yards with one touchdown. Hailing from Mountain View, California, he also had stints with the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, and Bills, accumulating earnings exceeding $2 million USD.
With a 4.53 speed in the 40-yard dash, the 27-year-old, who attended Palo Alto High School in California—coincidentally, the same alma mater as three-time first-team All-Pro Davante Adams—brings his NFL experience and agility to the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ receiving corps.
