South Carolina bolstered its roster Monday night by signing a familiar face from the transfer portal: former NC State defensive back.

Cisse, a standout from Lakewood High School in Sumter, South Carolina, was part of the class of 2023. Now, he’s returning to his home state to continue his college career with the Gamecocks.

Officially announced by South Carolina, Cisse brings significant experience to the team after playing key snaps for NC State in 2024. He recorded 28 tackles, five pass deflections, and two tackles for loss, making him a valuable addition to the Gamecocks’ secondary. Cisse is expected to contribute immediately next season.

South Carolina’s transfer class now includes 13 players, ranking No. 15 nationally, according to 247Sports. Cisse is the second defensive back to join the group, as the Gamecocks aim to strengthen their already strong pass defense, which ranked third in the SEC in 2024.

With two years of eligibility remaining, Cisse adds depth and talent to South Carolina’s secondary as they prepare for the 2025 season.
