BREAKING: Josh Jacobs Makes Admission About History With Raiders
When the Las Vegas Raiders selected Josh Jacobs in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, it was clear from the start that he was a special talent. Over five seasons, he cemented his place among the franchise’s top running backs, highlighted by his 2022 rushing title. However, his relationship with the team deteriorated in later years due to contract disputes and coaching changes.

In a recent episode of Gruden Goes Long, Jacobs discussed his challenges with the Raiders while speaking to his former coach, Jon Gruden. Reflecting on his journey and new deal with the Green Bay Packers, he acknowledged the difficulties he faced in Las Vegas. “I’ve been through so much in this league,” Jacobs said. “From coaches to GMs and dealing with the contract situation with the Raiders.”

Despite leading the league in rushing in 2022, the new Raiders leadership under Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler refused to offer him a fair extension, leading to ongoing conflicts with the front office. However, Jacobs fondly recalled his time under Gruden, expressing appreciation for the coach. “I’m blessed to have been in that situation,” he told Gruden. “I was hurt when you left… still love you, still one of my favorite coaches.”
In the end, Jacobs and the Raiders parted ways, but it’s clear he still cherishes parts of his time with the team.
