BREAKING: Bills WR Khalil Shakir’s Wife Sends 6-Word Message on Massive New Contract
The Buffalo Bills kicked off their offseason with a significant move, securing wide receiver Khalil Shakir with a lucrative contract extension. Shakir, quarterback Josh Allen’s most dependable target, was the only active player on the roster entering the 2024 season who had previously caught a pass from Allen. The 2022 fifth-round pick delivered a standout season, leading the team with a career-best 76 receptions and 821 receiving yards. On February 25, the Bills announced that Shakir had signed a four-year extension, keeping him in Buffalo through 2029. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the deal is worth up to $60.2 million, including $32 million in guaranteed money.

Shortly after the announcement, Bills general manager Brandon Beane spoke at the NFL Combine, expressing excitement about retaining Shakir. “We’re thrilled to have Khalil here for four more years, in addition to the one year he had left on his contract.” Shakir’s wife, Sayler Shakir, also celebrated the news, sharing the team’s announcement on her Instagram Stories with a message of pride for her husband.
Beane praised Shakir’s impact on the team, emphasizing his reliability and work ethic. “You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone—fans or players—who has a bad word to say about Khalil and what he brings,” Beane said. “He’s a true lunch-pail Buffalonian. He may not be from Buffalo, but he embodies that mentality. He doesn’t talk much—he just shows up and gets the job done. He’s Mr. Dependable. When the ball comes his way, he usually catches it.” The 25-year-old recorded just one drop on 100 targets last season.
Beane also highlighted Shakir’s growing role moving forward. “I’m sure everyone returning to the team will be excited to have Khalil back. We’re going to lean on him even more, both on the field and as a leader in the locker room.”
