According to a report, Brian Kelly has chosen LSU’s next defensive line coach.

Per 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, the Tigers are expected to hire former LSU standout and National Champion Kyle Williams for the position. Williams, who spent over a decade with the Buffalo Bills before retiring, was an All-SEC performer at LSU under Nick Saban and Les Miles.

He is set to replace Bo Davis, who left this offseason to join Kellen Moore’s coaching staff with the New Orleans Saints. LSU conducted an extensive search for the role, and recent reports indicated that Florida defensive line coach Gerald Chapman opted to remain with the Gators instead of moving to Baton Rouge.

Although Williams lacks college coaching experience, he has coached at the high school level, serving as the defensive coordinator at Ruston High School, his alma mater, from 2020 to 2024.

As a player, Williams had an accomplished career, winning a National Championship with LSU in 2003, earning All-SEC and All-America honors, and becoming a six-time Pro Bowler during his 13-year NFL career with the Bills.

LSU and Brian Kelly have yet to officially announce the hire.
