BREAKING: Buffalo Bills Agrees To Terms With Another Top Talent On Lucrative Contract Deal
Buffalo is ensuring one of its key locker room leaders stays put. Linebacker Terrell Bernard has agreed to a four-year contract extension, keeping him with the Bills through 2029.
Voted by his teammates as one of Buffalo’s two captains for the 2024 season, Bernard wrapped up his third NFL campaign with 104 tackles, two interceptions, five tackles for loss, three quarterback hits, a sack, and three passes defensed.
As the defensive captain, Bernard proved to be a reliable playmaker throughout the 2024 season. In Buffalo’s AFC Divisional matchup against Baltimore, he forced a crucial fumble with under nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. The Bills capitalized on the turnover by adding a field goal, extending their lead to eight and helping secure the win.

Bernard also delivered a clutch moment in Week 11 against Kansas City. With 1:17 left in the game, the Chiefs were advancing toward Buffalo territory when Bernard intercepted Patrick Mahomes on 4th-and-13, sealing the victory.
Over three seasons with Buffalo, Bernard has appeared in 46 games with 31 starts, accumulating 263 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 12 quarterback hits, five interceptions, 15 tackles for loss, eight passes defensed, and four fumble recoveries.

His breakout year came in 2023, when he became just the fourth player since 1982—joining Greg Lloyd (1989), Richard Dent (1990), and Seth Joyner (1991)—to record at least six sacks, three interceptions, and three fumble recoveries in a single season.
A Baylor alum, Bernard was selected by the Bills in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
