
BREAKING: Nine-time Pro Bowl Fullback Re-Signs with 49ers
Nine-time Pro Bowl fullback and former Harvard standout, is remaining in the Bay Area.
After being released by the San Francisco 49ers last week, the 33-year-old has re-signed with the team on a two-year, $8 million contract, ensuring his place as he enters the later stages of his career.
According to ESPN, Juszczyk declined a higher offer from the Pittsburgh Steelers to stay with the 49ers, where he has played for the past eight seasons.
Originally from Ohio, Juszczyk began his football career at Harvard as a tight end under coach Tim Murphy. He excelled with the Crimson, leading the team with 52 receptions for 706 yards and eight touchdowns in his senior season. The year before, he topped all Ivy League tight ends with 37 catches.
His impressive collegiate career led to his selection by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft, making him the first Harvard player drafted since Ryan Fitzpatrick in 2005.
Juszczyk made history in the NFL, becoming the first Harvard alum to catch a touchdown since 1980 during his second season with the Ravens.

After four years in Baltimore, he signed a record-breaking four-year, $21 million contract with the 49ers in 2017, making him the highest-paid fullback in league history. Under head coach Kyle Shanahan, Juszczyk became a vital part of the offense, contributing as a blocker, receiver, and situational runner. Shanahan even referred to him as an “offensive weapon.”

Throughout his time with the Ravens and 49ers, Juszczyk earned nine straight Pro Bowl selections and helped lead San Francisco to two Super Bowl appearances. In Super Bowl LIV against the Kansas City Chiefs, he became the first Harvard graduate to score a touchdown in the championship game.
Juszczyk is currently one of five former Harvard players active in the NFL.
