Buffalo’s current stadium will remain the Bills’ home until their new venue is completed in 2026. The transition to the updated Highmark Stadium is widely seen as necessary, and fortunately, 2026 is fast approaching.

As Bills fans eagerly anticipate their new home, a recent analysis of Yelp, Google, TripAdvisor, and Facebook reviews ranked stadiums across the NFL, NBA, and MLB. Highmark Stadium placed 16th among NFL venues and 51st overall out of 90, landing right in the middle of the pack among top stadiums in three of the four major U.S. sports leagues.

Among AFC East stadiums, Buffalo ranked second behind New England’s Gillette Stadium (44th overall, 11th in the NFL), while New York’s MetLife Stadium (61st overall, 19th in the NFL) and Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium (62nd overall, 20th in the NFL) followed.

Since opening in 1973, Highmark Stadium has provided the Bills with a strong home-field advantage, as the team has posted a 243-167 record (59.3%) over 52 seasons. However, 2025 will mark their final season in the stadium before moving into their new facility.

Despite nostalgia for the current venue, excitement is building for the new stadium, which will feature modern amenities such as a canopy covering 64% of fans, upgraded premium club seating, and more. According to the team’s website, the stadium’s design focuses on creating a loud, intimidating game-day atmosphere while bringing fans closer to the action and minimizing wind and weather effects.

One lingering concern is Buffalo’s nearly $2 million budget overrun on the project, leaving questions about how the NFL will address the team’s debt waiver request. However, once the new stadium opens, it is expected to receive much higher ratings across review platforms like Yelp, Google, TripAdvisor, and Facebook.
