BREAKING: Gophers reportedly interested in 6-foot-10 transfer from Gonzaga
Minnesota is showing interest in a promising freshman who recently entered the transfer portal.
The Gophers men’s basketball program has reportedly contacted 6-foot-10 forward Graydon Lemke, a Gonzaga transfer, according to college basketball recruiting analyst Jake Lieberman on social media Friday.
Lemke joined Gonzaga as a preferred walk-on and redshirted during the 2024-25 season, leaving him with four years of eligibility. A product of Faith Lutheran High School in Las Vegas, Lemke had an impressive senior year in high school, averaging 17.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.

Lieberman noted that Lemke is also receiving interest from schools such as Northern Arizona, Montana State, Tarleton State, Central Arkansas, and Elon. Since he didn’t see any playing time at Gonzaga, Lemke may be looking to move to a mid-major program where he can play a bigger role.
At 190 pounds, Lemke is still developing, but his unique skill set for a player his size—playing more like a wing despite being 6-foot-10—makes him an intriguing prospect. While he might not be ready for immediate Big Ten action, Minnesota head coach Niko Medved has a strong reputation for developing players, and Lemke could fit well into that system.
Additionally, Lemke’s older brother, Coleman, recently entered the portal after three seasons at Portland. Minnesota still has five scholarship spots open for the 2025-26 season, as the transfer portal deadline approaches on Tuesday.
