BREAKING: Utah Valley transfer guard signs with TCU

TCU men’s basketball has bolstered its backcourt with the addition of former Utah Valley guard Tanner Toolson, according to multiple reports. The 6-foot-5 redshirt sophomore earned Second-Team All-WAC honors in the 2024-25 season, averaging 13.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while shooting 45.3% from the field and 34.9% from beyond the arc. Toolson began his college career at BYU before transferring to Utah Valley, where he started 65 games over the past two seasons.

He’s now the fourth transfer the Horned Frogs have brought in this offseason and the second to commit over the weekend, following the departures of Frankie Collins and Vasean Allette via the transfer portal.

TCU has been active in reshaping its backcourt, also landing Liutauras Lelevicius from Oregon State, Jayden Pierre from Providence, and Brock Harding from Iowa. A native of Vancouver, Washington, Toolson helped lead Utah Valley to a WAC regular season title and an NIT berth in 2024-25, while also earning All-WAC Tournament honors.
