The North Carolina Tar Heels wrapped up their college basketball season in a disappointing manner.
After beating San Diego State to earn the No. 11 seed, North Carolina was upset in the first round of the NCAA Tournament by Ole Miss.
Following the season’s end, the Tar Heels quickly turned to the transfer portal to rebuild their roster, especially after several key departures.
Head coach Hubert Davis saw a wave of former top recruits leave the program for various reasons, including RJ Davis, Elliot Cadeau, and Ian Jackson.
Now, as the Tar Heels seek to retool with star talent, On3’s Joe Tipton has provided encouraging news for UNC fans.
According to Tipton, top transfer portal target and former elite recruit Andrej Stojakovic has named North Carolina among his final three choices for his next school.
Stojakovic — the son of former NBA star Peja Stojakovic — began his college career at Stanford before transferring to the California Golden Bears after his freshman year.
Over two college seasons, Stojakovic has averaged 12.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
Last season at Cal, he elevated his play, averaging 17.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per contest.

Stojakovic was a five-star recruit coming out of high school, ranked as the No. 5 small forward and No. 25 overall prospect nationally by the 247Sports Composite.
Landing Stojakovic would be a major boost for Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels as they look to contend for a conference championship next season.
