The San Francisco 49ers have officially signed linebacker Stone Blanton to a three-year contract.
Blanton (6’1″, 227 lbs) joins the team as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State University. Over his college career at Mississippi State (2024) and South Carolina (2022–23), he played in 36 games with 24 starts, totaling 184 tackles, seven pass breakups, 6.0 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, 1.5 sacks, an interception, and a fumble recovery.

In the 2024 season at Mississippi State, Blanton started all 12 games and recorded 125 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and half a sack. The previous year at South Carolina, he also started 12 games, posting 52 tackles, one sack, an interception, and a forced fumble. As a freshman in 2022, he saw action in 12 games and logged seven tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and one pass breakup.
A native of Madison, Mississippi, the 22-year-old attended Madison-Ridgeland Academy, where he racked up 285 tackles, 47.5 tackles for loss, 19 sacks, five pass deflections, and one fumble recovery during his high school career.
