When word got out that Jared Verse and Aaron Donald were gearing up for a friendly but intense gym session, Los Angeles Rams fans of all ages were fired up. The thought of the franchise’s legendary defensive anchor going toe-to-toe in the weight room with their new premier pass rusher was enough to stir excitement as summer rolled in.
Although the Rams haven’t released any footage of the workout just yet—surely holding onto gold for social media—Verse gave fans a glimpse on his own channels, revealing just how intense things got.

“I tried to test a legend… in Aaron Donald,” Verse shared. “And he responded with a workout from h\*ll. Learned my lesson. Respect OG.”
Despite hanging up his cleats, Donald’s reputation clearly still holds up. With a career that includes 10 Pro Bowl selections and eight All-Pro honors, his unmatched work ethic continues to leave a mark—even on the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year.
While the idea of Donald and Verse ever sharing the field is only a “what if,” as Donald retired before Verse ever donned the Rams uniform (outside of posing for trading card photos), the thought of them terrorizing offenses together is a fun one for fans. Imagining Donald occupying double-teams while Verse wreaks havoc off the edge is the kind of scenario Rams supporters can only dream of.

Will Donald ever return to action and line up beside Verse? It’s unlikely. But for now, this legendary offseason workout will have to do—and fans will keep hoping the door to a Donald comeback isn’t fully shut.
