UConn Huskies guard Azzi Fudd appears to have subtly confirmed her relationship with former college teammate Paige Bueckers.
Both players were instrumental in UConn’s 2024-25 national championship run under coach Geno Auriemma, culminating in a dominant 82-59 win over South Carolina in the NCAA title game. Fudd scored 24 points, while Bueckers added 17, capping off her collegiate career with a storybook ending before being selected No. 1 overall in the WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings. Fudd, meanwhile, chose to return to UConn for one final season and accompanied Bueckers to the draft.
Speculation about a relationship between the two had circulated for some time, but fans were sent into a frenzy after Fudd posted an Instagram Story from a hair appointment. Though the caption simply praised her stylist — “The absolute best @haylesloganhair” — sharp-eyed fans noticed the message on the back of her phone case: “Paige Bueckers Girlfriend.”

Social media erupted with reactions. One fan posted: “AZZI FUDD HAS A PAIGE BUECKERS GIRLFRIEND CASE ON HOLY S—.” Another added: “SHE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT SHE’S DOINGGGGG.” A third wrote: “I’m currently walking in the streets smiling at my phone — people must think I’m crazy.” Others chimed in with, “Clear as day she’s done hiding the fact she bagged THE baddest b—-,” and, “Azzi Fudd is an icon for this. You win the natty together and now she’s on your phone case? That’s the gayest s— I’ve ever seen — I LOVE THEM.”

As Fudd gears up to lead the Huskies in their title defense, Bueckers is already making waves in the WNBA. On Saturday, she scored 21 points to lead the Wings past the Connecticut Sun, 86-83. Despite Dallas’ 3-11 record, the rookie guard is averaging 18 points per game and looks every bit the future face of the franchise — highlighted by a 35-point performance against the Phoenix Mercury in the Commissioner’s Cup.
