The Texas Rangers recalled right-hander Dane Dunning from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, sending reliever Caleb Boushley back to the minors in a corresponding move.

The decision came ahead of the team’s three-game series opener in Baltimore, one day after Boushley threw 72 pitches in relief. He allowed five runs on 10 hits over the final four innings of an 8-3 loss to Pittsburgh. That outing followed a strong performance five days earlier when he retired all 10 batters he faced to close out a 6-1 home loss to Kansas City. Across 15 appearances over two stints with Texas this season, Boushley has a 5.04 ERA.

Dunning, who has made 95 starts for the Rangers over the past four years, has mostly pitched out of the bullpen since last season. Of his 27 appearances since the beginning of 2023, 16 have come in relief. His only big league outing this season was in April, when he was briefly on the roster for two days before being designated for assignment and sent to Round Rock.

The 30-year-old has compiled a 26-32 record and a 4.39 ERA over 118 games with Texas.
