CINCINNATI —
Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz has earned his second consecutive National League All-Star selection.

As of Sunday, the 23-year-old is hitting .279 with a .352 on-base percentage and a .491 slugging percentage over 89 games. He leads the Reds in both home runs (18) and RBIs (60), which are also the highest totals among all MLB shortstops this season. Notably, De La Cruz has outpaced NL starter Francisco Lindor by one home run and 13 RBIs.

In addition to his power numbers, De La Cruz has swiped 22 bases—the third-most among all shortstops and the most among those in the National League.

He is currently the only Reds player named to the All-Star roster, though others could be added as the event approaches.
