MLB Pipeline updates its rankings of every Major League team’s farm system at least two or three times each year. Top prospects may get promoted to the majors, while others drop in the rankings, and some relatively unknown players make unexpected leaps over the course of the season.

In the latest top-100 list, the Cincinnati Reds have six prospects featured. With Chase Burns now considered a major leaguer and no longer a prospect, infielder Sal Stewart takes over as the Reds’ new No. 1.

The other Reds prospects in the top 100 include Rhett Lowder (63), Alfredo Duno (75), Tyson Lewis (85), recent draftee Steele Hall (89), and Cam Collier (100). Meanwhile, right-handed pitcher Chase Petty and shortstop Edwin Arroyo have dropped out of the top-100.
Surprising Reds prospects crash MLB’s top-100 rankings for 2025

Sal Stewart is knocking on the door of the major leagues, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Reds promote him when rosters expand next month. The 21-year-old has been on a tear since reaching Triple-A last month, and Cincinnati could certainly use a boost in the middle of their lineup during the final weeks of the 2025 season.

The other top-100 prospects, however, will likely have to wait at least another year before making a mark in the big leagues. Rhett Lowder made his MLB debut in 2024 but isn’t expected back this season due to an oblique injury. Alfredo Duno, Tyson Lewis, and Steele Hall still have a long road ahead, while Cam Collier needs more time to develop in the minors.

Reds fans should also keep an eye on Hector Rodríguez and Zach Maxwell, both currently at Triple-A Louisville and potential contributors in September.
With so much talent in the farm system, one has to wonder if Reds President of Baseball Operations Nick Krall will be active in the offseason, leveraging some of Cincinnati’s prospect assets. Between these six top-tier players, the organization has a valuable pool of young talent to work with.
