Jo Adell was left out of the Los Angeles Angels’ lineup on Monday.
Adell, who had won Player of the Week in the American League, will miss the game because of vertigo. Matthew Lugo, who bats sixth, will take Adell’s position in right field.
During Sunday’s victory over the Athletics, Adell felt queasy and had to leave the game early. The Halos avoided the sweep at home thanks to a two-run home run in the first inning.
Adell is batting this year. 243 with career-highs in OPS (.811), slugging percentage (.507), and on-base percentage (.303). With a career-high OPS+ of 119, he is about 20% above the league average.
In terms of barrel %, Adell is among the league’s top players. In the 97th percentile in MLB, he does it 18.1% of the time.

In his 27 games this season, Lugo is batting.213 with an OPS of.701. at his 94 appearances at Triple-A this season, the 24-year-old rookie had an OPS of.748 and a slash line of.258/.318/.440.

Although Lugo is still getting used to life in the major leagues, his tremendous speed may readily distinguish him from other baseball players. According to Baseball Savant, his sprint speed is in the 96th percentile in Major League Baseball.
