BREAKING NEWS: ALOUETTES SIGNED THREE PLAYERS INCLUDING TWO CANADIANS

On May 6, 2024, Montreal Alouettes made public their latest signings, adding American defensive back Christian Morgan, Canadian offensive lineman Matthew Hajewich, and Canadian running back Tanner Nelmes to their roster.

Nelmes named OUA MFOOT All-Rookie - Laurier Athletics - Waterloo Campus

Christian Morgan, standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds, brings a wealth of experience from his five-year tenure at Baylor University. During his time there, the Houston, TX native showcased his skills in 55 games, accumulating 109 tackles, 52 assists, seven interceptions, and 19 knockdowns. Notably, he received recognition on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll four times. Morgan, aged 24, previously contributed to the Green Bay Packers in 2023.

Matthew Hajewich, at 6 feet 3 inches and 304 pounds, contributed to Regina University for two years. His standout performance in 2023 included starting in all games for his team. Additionally, he garnered an All-Canadian Academic honor during his rookie season.

Tanner Nelmes, standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 215 pounds, showcased his talent during his four-year stint at Wilfrid Laurier University. Throughout his career, he carried the ball 226 times for 1,266 yards and scored nine touchdowns. Nelmes was honored as an “All-Canadian Academic” in both 2021 and 2022, and he was selected for the OUA rookie Team in his debut season.

In addition to these signings, the Alouettes also announced the departure of wide receiver Kameron Brown and linebacker Chris Moore from their roster.
