General Booty is heading to Monroe, LA.

The ex-Oklahoma quarterback announced his transfer to Louisiana-Monroe on Wednesday through Twitter.

ULM’s newest quarterback, Booty, spent two seasons at Oklahoma, where he made two appearances. He played in TCU’s blowout of the Sooners in 2022 and took snaps during Oklahoma’s 73-0 win over Arkansas State in the 2023 opener.

Before joining Oklahoma, Booty excelled at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, TX, leading the NJCAA in passing yards (3,410) and touchdowns (27). Since his JUCO days, he has yet to record a passing statistic.

Booty was a 3-star recruit from Allen High School in Texas, known for producing Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray. Out of high school, ULM was the second FBS school to offer him a scholarship after Liberty.

Now a redshirt junior, Booty joins the Warhawks, who are under a new coaching staff led by former UAB offensive coordinator and interim head coach Bryant Vincent, hired in December. Booty’s father, Josh Booty, a former Cleveland Browns quarterback, also has Louisiana ties, having grown up in Shreveport and played college football at LSU.

The Warhawks completed spring practice with five quarterbacks, and Booty’s arrival makes it six. Among the spring participants, Hunter Herring is the only one with FBS-level passing experience. Herring led a comeback against Army and started the team’s second win of the season against Lamar before a broken clavicle ended his season early. He is currently expected to be the starting quarterback, but Booty will likely compete for the position during fall camp under Vincent and his new coaching staff.
