Regarding advice for Brady, Olsen mentioned in an interview with USA TODAY’s “Sports Seriously” that he recently spoke with Brady, who was seeking insights on preparation and the industry. Olsen noted that while each person’s journey in sports broadcasting is unique, many underestimate the challenge of live game commentary, which requires handling the game flow, player dynamics, and terminology. He highlighted that success in broadcasting doesn’t necessarily correlate with being a great player, as outcomes have varied.

Olsen received high praise for his role as FOX’s lead NFL analyst during the 2023 season, creating a dilemma for the network, which had already signed Brady to a significant contract. Nevertheless, Brady will commence his broadcasting career in Week 1 of the 2024 season, covering the Dallas Cowboys vs. Cleveland Browns game.

This transition is intriguing for several reasons, including Brady’s recent Netflix roast, which featured some controversial jokes and a bit of regret from the former New England Patriots quarterback.
