UPDATE: Rutgers Football key man makes CFB Top 100 list for 2024 campaign.
Hollin Pierce’s journey has been remarkable. Now, the Scarlet Knight tackle has the opportunity to become one of the top players in college football in 2024.
Recently, On3 compiled a list of the “Top 100 Players in College Football” for the upcoming season, and Pierce is featured at No. 98 overall. He was selected as the 16th best offensive lineman and third in the Big Ten.
In 2023, Pierce started all 13 games at left tackle for Rutgers, earning honorable mention All-Big Ten honors from both the coaches and media. This extended his streak to 37 consecutive games played on the offensive line for Rutgers.
Pierce led an offensive line that blocked for the Big Ten’s leading rusher, Kyle Monangai, who amassed 1,262 yards. The team set a program record within the Big Ten with 276 rushing yards against Indiana. Overall, the Scarlet Knights rushed for 2,193 yards last season, the most in a single season since 2007.
This season, Rutgers will have a new quarterback in Minnesota transfer Athan Kaliakmanis, while Monangai will return in the backfield. The offensive line aims to maintain its strong performance, having led the Big Ten in fewest sacks allowed per game at 1.08 in 2023.
There is considerable optimism for Rutgers Football heading into the 2024 season. The offensive line is poised to be productive, with Pierce returning as the anchor on the left side.
