BREAKING NEWS: Edmonton Elks sign another 30-years old key man
EDMONTON — The Edmonton Elks announced on Sunday that they have signed American quarterback Dakota Prukop.
Returning to Edmonton for a second time, Prukop was previously with the team in 2021, playing in eight games and achieving 134 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He was recently released by the BC Lions in late May.
The 30-year-old quarterback spent the past two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2022-23), where he recorded 13 rushing touchdowns across 27 games. Known for his short-yardage prowess, Prukop participated in the last two Grey Cups with the Bombers, amassing 42 rushing yards and four touchdowns, with two in each championship game.
Hailing from Texas, Prukop has also played for the New Jersey Generals of the USFL in 2023 and the Toronto Argonauts from 2017 to 2019.
In addition, the Elks have added American running back Jermaine Brown Jr., American linebacker Reynard Ellis, American wide receiver Arkell Smith, and Global kicker Dean Faithfull to their practice roster.
