“The deal includes an invitation to major league spring training,” Mike Puma wrote for the New York Post. “A right-handed bat, Arroyo is viewed as corner infield insurance for the Mets. But Arroyo also has experience playing the middle infield.”
If Arroyo recaptures some of his previous promise, the Mets could option the likes of Mark Vientos, Ronny Mauricio or Luisangel Acuna to make room for him in the majors.
