Significant Boost: Huskers make final four for five-star offensive tackle

Nebraska has made the final four for 2025 five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr., who has set his decision date for August 17.

Joining Georgia, Ohio State, and Tennessee, Nebraska is in the running for Sanders, the No. 3 overall prospect and the nation’s top offensive tackle according to 247Sports. The 6-foot-6, 290-pound Sanders visited Nebraska officially in May, among his trips to Ohio State, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, and South Carolina. Although Nebraska was not among Sanders’ top six schools announced in March, they secured a quiet official visit in May. Clemson, initially in a strong position for Sanders, did not make his final four.

247Sports’ Andrew Ivins evaluated Sanders as an athletic offensive tackle with high potential due to his size and movement patterns. Standing over 6-foot-5 with 36-inch arms, Sanders is currently lighter but has time to gain mass and has shown impressive strength, power cleaning 335 pounds. He is nimble for his size, able to quickly set up and adjust in battles, and has a strong punch and good leverage. Despite a freshman-year femur injury, Sanders excelled as a sophomore, anchoring his team to its first state title in 10 years. Sanders is expected to need some time to adjust to college football but has the potential to be a multi-year starter at left tackle for a top program.
