Three days after missing out on a cornerback target, the Miami Hurricanes secured a significant commitment on Saturday from Jaboree Antoine, a four-star cornerback prospect from Louisiana. Antoine, who chose UM over LSU and FSU, is listed by 247 Sports as the No. 8 cornerback and No. 71 overall player in his class, while On3 ranks him as the No. 9 cornerback and No. 87 prospect. This commitment came about 72 hours after five-star cornerback DJ Pickett opted for LSU over UM and Oregon.

Antoine, attending Westlake High in Iberia, Louisiana, de-committed from LSU in June but reconsidered them before committing to UM on Friday. “It was a late decision,” Antoine shared on social media and On3’s announcement show. “[UM] was unmatchable.” He described himself as a leader on and off the field, promising to help the Canes strive for a national title. Antoine, who visited UM twice, most recently on May 31, said the staff was thrilled with his commitment. He expressed eagerness to join the team despite playing only five games last season due to a collarbone injury. In 2022, he recorded 32 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and five interceptions, and also played quarterback, completing 105 of 186 passes for 1,650 yards and 12 touchdowns. Standing at 6-1 and 180 pounds, Antoine joins four-star Chris Ewald Jr. and three-star Timothy Merritt as cornerback commitments in UM’s 2025 class. Four-star Amari Wallace, another UM commit, can play cornerback or safety.

The Hurricanes are also pursuing other top defensive backs:
– Four-star Miami Columbus safety Bryce Fitzgerald, who plans to announce in mid-August with UF and FSU also in contention.
– Booker T. Washington cornerback Ben Hanks Jr., ranked No. 10 cornerback and No. 81 overall player, considering UM, FSU, UF, and Louisville, with On3 favoring UF.
– Louisiana-based three-star prospect Aiden Anding, ranked No. 38 among corners by 247 Sports, also being considered by Texas, TCU, LSU, and Arkansas.

On offense, four-star 2025 receiver Vernell Brown III from Orlando (Fla.) Jones is set to choose between UM, FSU, UF, and Ohio State on Sunday. The Hurricanes now have 19 Class of 2025 commitments, 13 of which are from four-star prospects since June 1.
