Malachi Moore, expected to have an All-American season, was a standout on the 2020 team that won a CFP National Championship and aims to return to that level of excellence. The Trussville (Ala.) native recovered from injuries to have a strong 2023 season, recording 52 tackles, five tackles for loss, five pass breakups, a quarterback hurry, and an interception. As a permanent team captain and the leader of this year’s defense, Moore has transitioned from nickel cornerback to safety, aiming to help the unit create turnovers. A standout season could boost his chances of a first-round NFL Draft grade.
