Breaking News: Calgary Announced The Departure Of Another Key Player

In 2022, Sceviour earned recognition as a West Division all-star while playing for the Stampeders. The Saskatchewan Roughriders have bolstered their offensive line by signing this former all-star.

On Friday, the Riders made public the acquisition of Ryan Sceviour on a one-year contract. Hailing from Calgary and aged 28, Sceviour has spent the last five seasons with his hometown team, the Calgary Stampeders, following his selection by the team in the first round, eighth overall, in the 2018 CFL Draft.

Standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 300 pounds, Sceviour has appeared in 66 games for the Stamps throughout his career. In the previous season, he served as the starting right guard for Calgary in all 18 games, earning him the distinction of being named a West Division all-star in 2022.

Before transitioning to the professional ranks, Sceviour showcased his talents over five seasons with the University of Calgary Dinos, where he received recognition as a second-team All-Canadian in both 2016 and 2017.

He joins a Saskatchewan squad already featuring notable Canadian offensive linemen such as Philip Blake, Logan Ferland, Peter Godber, Noah Zerr, Logan Bandy, Zack Fry, and Evan Floren.

Sceviour marks the ninth addition to Saskatchewan’s roster since the commencement of CFL free agency on Tuesday. He joins other signings including running back A.J. Ouellette, offensive lineman Jermarcus Hardrick, defensive lineman Malik Carney, defensive back Jalon Edwards-Cooper, linebackers Jameer Thurman, Jordan Herdman-Reed, and Justin Herdman-Reed, along with American fullback Clint Ratkovich.
