Keston Hiura, the former ninth overall pick by the Milwaukee Brewers, spent seven years with the organization before recently signing with the Detroit Tigers. During his time with the Brewers, he delivered memorable moments, including a dramatic walk-off home run against Craig Kimbrel and the Chicago Cubs in 2019, as well as his final big league home run, also a walk-off, against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Now with the Tigers, Hiura faces the challenge of earning a spot on the 40-man roster, but there appears to be a clearer opportunity for significant playing time in the majors. While he previously struggled defensively at second base, he has shown improvement, particularly in his defensive skills at first base and left field over the past year. Although he may be best suited as a designated hitter, his versatility in multiple positions could prove valuable for his new team.

After signing with the Detroit Tigers Keston Hiura posted a heartfelt goodbye to the Milwaukee Brewers

It’s been nearly seven years since I joined the Brewers, and it’s a moment that prompts reflection on the incredible memories and relationships formed during this time. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire Brewers organization, my teammates, coaches, staff members, and above all, the amazing city of Milwaukee, for being a part of this unforgettable journey.

To all those who stood by me through the highs and lows, your support never went unnoticed. I sincerely wish our journey together could have concluded differently, but I want to assure everyone that I always gave my absolute best and left everything I had on the field. Milwaukee will forever hold a special place in my heart!
