As expected, the Seattle Seahawks have officially added former Miami Dolphins center Connor Williams to their roster. This move was confirmed on Sunday, shortly after the Seahawks traded Nick Harris back to the Cleveland Browns. Seattle had initially signed Harris in free agency to compete for the starting center spot alongside second-year player Olu Oluwatimi. The Seahawks’ interest in Williams underscored their approach to the competition.

While the full details of the contract have not been revealed, it is reported that Williams is on a one-year deal worth up to $6 million.

Williams began his NFL career as a left guard with the Dallas Cowboys before transitioning to center` with the Miami Dolphins in 2022. The 27-year-old was having a standout season before suffering an ACL tear against the Tennessee Titans last December. Remarkably, Williams has made a swift recovery and is expected to be ready for Week 1, avoiding the PUP list.

Barring any injuries or other issues, Williams will begin the regular season as the starting centre, with Olu Oluwatimi acting as the backup. If Williams can swiftly return to his pre-injury form, he has the potential to radically alter the outlook of Seattle’s overhauled interior offensive line.
