Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves has quickly become a key player and fan favorite on the team. His rapid rise to prominence led to a partnership with the Chinese footwear brand Rigorer and the launch of his AR1 signature shoe line.

Reaves has since introduced several colorways of his signature sneakers and is now set to release his 10th edition, the ‘Year of the Dragon.’ This release, which marks the one-year anniversary of the AR1’s debut, is inspired by the Chinese lunar calendar. It will be available on August 17 through KICKS CREW and Rigorer, priced at $100.

Reaves’ latest design will also include a woven cocoon upper that provides breathability and lockdown support, as well as an anti-slip sole and heel TPU to improve landing stability and help prevent severe ankle injuries.

As he enters his fourth season with the Lakers, Reaves will once again be an incredibly critical piece of the team’s success this season as they attempt to claw their way back into championship contention.

Lakers’ Austin Reaves looking to put on muscle this offseason

To help the Lakers succeed, Austin Reaves recognizes the need for improvement in the offseason. While he will continue to enhance his overall game, his primary focus this summer is to get physically stronger.

Reaves shared with Lakers Nation, “The main thing is to build up my upper body strength. My lower body is in good shape, but last year I didn’t have the chance to fully dedicate a summer to weight training and adding muscle up top. That’s really what I need to work on.”

He continued, “During my exit meetings, Rob and I discussed this, and gaining about five pounds of upper body strength was a key goal. It will help with defense and getting around the basket, allowing me to create more opportunities and finish with and-ones. Overall, I’m passionate about basketball and am committed to improving in every aspect of my game.”
