Former Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver Announces Retirement (Breaking)
In a heartfelt Instagram post, veteran wide receiver Tavon Austin has announced his retirement from the NFL:
Despite working out for the Seattle Seahawks last year, Austin’s last NFL game was in 2021 with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Throughout his nine-year NFL career, Austin caught 244 passes for 2,239 yards and 16 touchdowns. In addition, he has 1,361 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns, as well as nearly 2,000 return yards and three special teams touchdowns.
He is WVU’s all-time all-purpose yardage leader and has been named to many All-America teams. He is the only player in football history to score a touchdown on a rush, catch, punt return, and kick return all in the same season.
He formerly played for the Los Angeles Rams, Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Buffalo Bills.
We extend our best wishes to Austin on his retirement.
