DEAL DONE: Miami Hurricanes land commitment of 5 time superstar
The Miami Hurricanes continue to excel in recruiting, securing their latest commitment from three-star edge rusher Mykah Newton, who announced his decision on Friday. Newton, a Newberry High standout, had previously committed to NC State. He expressed his excitement on X, writing “THE UUUUUUUU” with green and orange heart emojis, and added, “A Dream Come True—I’m Coming to the U! Let’s not talk about it, let’s just work and win!” This brings Miami’s 2025 recruiting class to 21 commits, with seven of those pledges coming in the past two months. Recent additions include offensive lineman Seuseu Alofaituli from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman, linebacker Gavin Nix from Bradenton IMG Academy, athlete Hylton Stubbs from Jacksonville Mandarin, cornerback Jaboree Antoine from New Iberia Westgate in Louisiana, wide receiver Daylyn Upshaw from Phenix City Central in Alabama, and defensive lineman Donta Simpson from Chaminade-Madonna.
Newton is the second edge rusher in Miami’s 2025 class, joining fellow three-star recruit Herbert Scroggins.
