BREAKING: Dolphins star posts emotional message after suffering career ending injury
The Miami Dolphins might be missing another wide receiver, though the duration of his absence is uncertain.
River Cracraft is one of those wide receivers who defies the odds to be in the NFL. His grit and determination are always evident. He’s the kind of player who’s easy to root for because he’s not the flashy NFL type—he’s relatable, like one of us. So when a player like Cracraft gets injured, it hits a bit harder.
Cracraft made a fantastic catch to cap off the Dolphins’ first drive against the Commanders with a touchdown. However, Miami fans didn’t see him for the rest of the night.
Head coach Mike McDaniel informed the media that Cracraft sustained an “upper-body injury” that will sideline him for “some time.”
“It doesn’t seem to be season-ending, but he will be out for a while,” McDaniel said.

He took to social media to update fans on his condition. Although the Dolphins have yet to place him on injured reserve, it appears to be only a matter of time. Under the current guidelines, the team can bring back two players from IR if they’re placed there during training camp, so Cracraft could still return later in the season. However, his absence is a significant loss for the team.
Cracraft has been with the Dolphins for two seasons, appearing in 11 games in 2022 and 10 games last season. His availability is becoming a concern, as the Dolphins need players who can stay healthy, and Cracraft has struggled with that recently.
Built for the adversity. I put my heart and soul into this game and I will continue to do that because it means something to me #finsup 🐇 pic.twitter.com/Vfgsty1HUW

If Cracraft is placed on IR, it will free up a roster spot. The Dolphins might decide to keep six wide receivers, but if they opt to keep seven, the final spot could be up for grabs. With Odell Beckham Jr. still on the PUP list and Willie Snead recently placed on injured reserve, the situation is fluid and could lead to some interesting decisions.
