Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher  exited his start against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday night due to discomfort in his left big toe.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts explained that the pain stems from an ongoing bone spur issue, which might lead to Kershaw being placed on the injured list.

During the game, the pitcher surrendered two runs in the first inning and was removed with no outs in the second after giving up a home run to Corbin Carroll to begin the inning.

Roberts promptly left the dugout with an athletic trainer to take out the three-time NL Cy Young Award winner following Carroll’s 18th homer, which landed just inside the right foul pole.

Carroll’s home run narrowed the Dodgers’ lead to 5-3. Ultimately, the Dodgers triumphed with a 10-9 victory, increasing their lead over the Diamondbacks to five games in the NL West.

Since returning from four months on the injured list recovering from shoulder surgery in the offseason, Kershaw has made six starts. He entered the game with a 2-2 record and a 3.72 ERA.

The Dodgers have faced significant challenges with pitching injuries this season, including losses of Walker Buehler, Brusdar Graterol, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
